If I remember right, you need to check the voltage on the line coming from 
the front panel pushbuttons to see if the voltage is correct. You may find it 
is 
low. There is some circuit that ties into that line that is for overvoltage, 
etc, and you will find a diode shorted and/or transistor. Use the shematic :)
Sorry I could'nt be of more help but I don't have the serv. info in front of
