Try this: disconnect the vcc lead to the vertical IC. If it is shorted, it
will prevent the HV from starting and you will get a lot of racket in the
sound.
If the vert IC is shorted, be sure and change the filter caps in that ckt to
keep from damaging the new IC.

this TV turns on,no picture-loud buzz through speakers..regulator gets
extremely hot fast...changed it=no difference=hot ok all diodes check
ok..has anybody seen this? Any help greatly appreciated -- Tony
