I agree with you, and you can also use the2SD2553 which is very similar to the
2539 but with 1700v vce (which you do not need at all, but it is just there...)
They run cooler because of their higher dc gain and higher ft.
You can replace most HOTs with those. The 2sd2580 is a very good choice
too (2sd2579/81if you need a damperless one)
