My little Transistor manual said nothing about it....guess I should learn to
read Japanese at the same time as my Chinese language
classes..................

I pulled the data sheet that transistor has an on chip damper. A 2sd1880 (if
you have a real one) should work.

Thats a 8amp, 60W Horz output with no damper.
A 2SD1886 or 1887 (10A) should fit the bill.
