Ron,
     Not sure on the sub... But the 221-365 is the Teletext Processor Unit,
for world telex, don't know if its even used here now... If that's what your
trying to repair you must call your local cable company to see if any of
there channels are broadcasting this background signal... IC2201 is Video
Codec Unit IC2202 is Video Processor Unit.. I would remove 2201 and 2202 and
clean the pins and try.. Those IC's can cause a grey screen with no
menu..Also note that the set will show a very very poor picture with the
digital cover off.. All of above if your still talking about the SE35
digital 1988 model the SJ digital models came out in 1991 and have different
service menu's
