These run ridiculously hot normally.......Just make sure you use plenty of heatsink grease & resolder the power supply circuit really well....you will see many ring cracks on these. Replacing all the small caps is a good idea also. Found numerous bad solder connections on power supply supply board. Repairing these did not fix the problem. Found STRS-6031 voltage regulator bad. Replaced with an OEM "A" version. Set runs fine. Regulator output voltage is normal at 158 volts and regulates well. The concern is that after 20 minutes of running the regulator and heat sink is very hot. Almost too hot to touch. Is this normal? I have ESR'd all supply capacitors, all load voltages seem fine and regulator input ontput ripple is within specification. > > Any thoughts appreciated. > > Bruce > Bruce's TV Service > Sierra Vista, Arizona > Youmans@xxxxxxxx > > ------------------------------------------ > To REMOVE your email address, click here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html > To CHANGE your email address, click here: > http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html > ------------------------------------------ > ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** > Submit Repair Tips here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > > ------------------------------------------ To REMOVE your email address, click here: http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html To CHANGE your email address, click here: http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html ------------------------------------------ ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/
