Definitely replace the HOT with a good quality reputable transistor and also replace capacitor C502 off the horizontal driver transformer. The originals were a suffix "N". Glen at ACME assured me he sells the "P" suffix (2sc4834P) and are a much heavier duty transistor than the orig. They sell a $6.95 kit of the two PS transistors, HOT and .1 ohm resistor. I think the generac HOT and maybe an electrolytic is the cause for the HOT overheating. I would think a bad fly would have zapped it at once, not slowely heat it. Will advise. Please send me feedback. Phil Philip Bader Jan Phyl TV Inc. (estab. 1976) 3420 Recker Hwy.
