Thats what I heard from someone else and I think one board was around $800.00 and there are 3 boards that any one of, could be the one that needs replacing. What a great set! This is the 1st and probably the last for me.I originally thought the convergence circuit was where the problem was. Now can't tell if it is the cause or the effect. I think the problem is in the standby power supply but with all of the protect circuits it is difficult to isolate. It could, I suppose even be a defective micro. I have not seen one in quite a while. The last one I saw actually had defective convergence amp IC's but I still had to replace the chassis as per Sharp's warranty policy.
