Jerry, Check the right side of the carriage for the carriage drive gear. If it and the rack gear it engages are white you might need to install the upgrade kit for that and it could very well be your problem. Wear and broken teeth are common which in-turn throws off the timing in the mode switch.. Couple more loads later everything appears to be working perfectly.. Another common failure is under the deck the slide plates on those crack. However you will have to research for appropriate part number if you find it cracked... I don't have the manual for that one either - sorry. Frank, over at Studio Sound, might have the part numbers and parts for it at his fingertips - - http://www.iglou.com/studiosound/ HTH Bill William Rayburn, CET Premium Technologies PO Box 442 Long Beach, WA. 98631 360-642-4993 ----- Original Message ----- From: "J Silverman" <greentron@xxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, October 09, 2005 6:22 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Samsung VR8706 Cassette goes in and down, then ejects. After you fool with it for a while, casette goes in and down and then wont eject. Fool with it some more and then it starts working properly. Next day, same thing. Have changed sensor LED, checked end sensor operation and power supply voltages, refurbed mechanism switch. This model not on Samsung Web site.
