Well, the OEM was the original failure. I used another OEM, and just failed again. Under "normal" conditions the OEM is fine. But depending on the severity of the intermittant short/arc, a heavier version is necessary. Increased voltage and current specs. I had perfected a good sub, but the number got away from me.
