Jeff, I haven't had one of that model
but had a DVD with symptoms very
simular to what you describe. I even
thought it was overheating and the
chips did get pretty warm but that
wasn't the problem. I found that reseating
the flex cables cured the trouble. Most
likely one of the cables was broken in
a spot and reseating it moved the spot but it has been working for
over a year now. Just a thought or
something to try.
