[TechAssist] RCA DVD RC5220P-shuts down in 40 minutes

Any one have case histories on these, yet?
I know there is no literature, parts available for these, but hopefully someone
has figured out this problem by now.
After approximately 40 minutes of playing a DVD, the unit shuts down. Try to
press
play again, unit says disk is not compatible.
If I place an audio CD in, it will play just fine. I know if the problem is the
laser assembly, it will not be worth repairing.
Any ideas?
