Dominic, If you see a F on the upper corner of the screen then its in 
factory mode. to remove take the factory type set up remote and go to A24 
this will remove the F mode .To put it back in f mode hit A26. If you do not 
have the remote somtimes you can hit channel down and volume down at the 
same time  for about 5 seconds.

Somtimes after removing set from F mode the set will play for about 30 sec. 
and then shut down.
You will need to set the G2 control on the flyback. Go back to F mode hook 
up color gen. turn to channel 3  and set G-2 for retrace then turn back 
until retrace  clears. and remove from F mode.
