Thanks for the replies. I ended up pulling a relay from a microwave
logic board, laying it sideways, securing it with RTV, and wiring it to
the board. No question it could handle the current. The only question
was the current draw of the relay.
It worked perfectly and saved the bacon of my mechanic. It was a freebe
job, but he owes me one! (He thought it was the mirror motor and charged
the customer for it. The customer still made out much cheaper.)
Thanks to all of you who helped me. I learned about Google search engine
and NTE relays. That's a source that never occured to me.
