[TechAssist] Mitsubishi,CS20SX!,q505 no need?

hello techs,
this set came in with shutdown problem.traced the problem to
Q505 draining the regulated 9v,
off the 29 vdc,secondary voltage,
next to the vertical IC
i unsoldered this transistors'
emitter ,turned the set on,then
check linearity vertical size,seems
to be ok.
the set seems to be normal in every way.
what is q505 purpose in life,except to take space?
