I just finished one of that same model about an hour ago except I had the VCR working and the TV dead. The customer had spilled orange juice into the VCR power supply. It took me about 8 hours to find all the problems after we ordered the manual. I could not have fixed it without the manual. BTW, TV20240, 20241, and 20242 are all the same as far as I can tell, they were just released in different years. We ordered the TV20241 and received TV20240 manual. The upc is on the bottom of the VCR board and is powered by the VCR PS. I would make sure the load motor is good and the IC that drives it (IC3002 TA7291S). That IC is controlled by pins 26 and 27 of the upc. My manual is on paper, I can send part of it if you need. Or it is not real expensive from JVC (surprise). You can get a little info from www.jvcservice.com. Let me know, John. It is strange that I can even put the vcr in between modes and the tv doesn't shut down or attempt to get back to the stop eject position. It seems like the power supply for the vcr is working and I noticed that there are a few IC protection fuses but check ok. I don't have a diagram but since the system control seems to be working I don't know why the vcr isn't responding at all. > Any ideas greatly appreciated. > > Thanks in advance, > > Jason > Mouton Electronics > New Iberia, LA > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > Lost Password: > http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?". > Email Archives: > //www.freelists.org/archives/techassist/ > ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?".
