I do not have the chip, but I thought of something I should mention. I did a search for this when you posted it, and I think it was described as a PMOS part. It has been a long time since I have seen any PMOS, but as I recall cautions regarding the -5v substrate supply (Rams were the only PMOS parts I really remember using). This may not apply here at all, but before you install the new chip, if the chip uses a minus supply, be CERTAIN that it is functional.
