Back in about '93 the boss and I went to a customers' house to explain a new
device she had just received. A voice activated remote control, purchased
from one of those shopping channels. The main problem here was that she was
in her 80s, had emphazema, and every time she said something her voice was
different. We tried to get her to just push the channel numbers on the
remote. She did not like that.
The thing worked fine for me, and for the boss, but she just couldn't get it
to work.
A few days latter she called and said she had it figured out. She would
speak the channel number she wanted, it would go to heaven only knows what
channel, and she could just use the channel up/down buttons from there.
Problem solved.
