Always try another EPROM when you have unsolvable shutdown problems on
the CTCxxx chassis. Install an 8-pin socket to save on trace damage. It
may be that the horz freq. is simply too far off. This will cause the
high voltage to rise, and the set will shut down.

to be in an odd HV shutdown???---Push power clicks a high pitch
momentary squeel then cycles. On my Sencore VA62 the flyback gives 41-45
rings. B+ appears to be high at about 174v Have checked a number of caps
in the horz section and tested diodes also. The set will run with a
vertical line if the horizontal yoke plug is pulled (it rings 25x)
