This is the fix as entered in Winstips : Original thread below --------------------------------------------------------------- Text pasted from WinSTIPS 2.0 http://www.ServiceSoftware.com --------------------------------------------------------------- RCA CTC203CH3 Shuts down on power up : Set would Build HV for a second then shutdown and repeat 5 times Jeff Stielau : 8/10/04 : Shoreline Electronics On the F2PIP Module , U18101 ( LM317T) 3.3V regulator had 12V in on input pin 3 (good) but 1.2V on output pin 2 (no good). Changing the LM317T did not help. Problem turned out to loose solder connection chip resistor R18127 between pins 2 & 1. This resistor is part of the critical values that keep the LM317T regulating at 3.3V --------------------------------------------------------------- ================================= Jeff Stielau Shoreline Electronics Repair 344 East Main Street Clinton,CT 06413 (860)399-1861 (860)664-3535 FAX jstielau@xxxxxxxx ================================= ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shoreline Electronics" <jstielau@xxxxxxxx> To: "TV Repair Group" <tv-repair@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 09, 2004 12:43 PM Subject: RCA CTC203 F2PIP Module Failures > Make : RCA > Model : F32665 > Chassis : CTC203CH3 > > Problem : Shuts down on power up. > > Traced problem to the F2PIP module. > > IC U18101 ( LM317T) in the 3.3V regulator circuit is only putting out 1.2V > on pin 2 > > Tried a new IC , no change.
