Yes Holding the rewind shut the power off. And then when I turned back on it
works without the demo mode. I am very suprised that Panasonic didn't know
this. I will put this on Tech assist so other techs might use also.

1. With power on, and no tape in unit, press play and rewind for 5 or more
seconds. Unit will shut down, then must be reprogramed
2. With power on and no cassette, press play for 5 or more seconds. Demo
will shut off.
