If he has the remote, press the "guide" button to turn it off, assuming no
problems with the TV. If it will not auto program without the guide+, check
in the guide menu to see if cable box is not selected. It should not be. If
it is, you will only receive ch 3 even tho the numbers will change. If you
want to defeat the guide+, in the guide set up, enter the zip code as all
9's.
