Kevin, I had this happen to me on a ctc148 (I think) and it ran me in circles. Check the voltage on the transistor. Mine was high and I couldn't figure out where the extra voltage was coming from. After lots of searching it turned out to be a cap in the vertical circuit leaking the extra voltage to that line. Did you use the correct part, maybe you got a bad one. Just a thought. al marquardt ampm@xxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin" <kevintv@xxxxxxx> To: "TECH-ASSIST" <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, December 16, 2002 3:44 AM Subject: [TechAssist] CTC166/167 RCA, replaced shorted Q901, video luminance buffer, shorted again. > Hi fellow techs, > > Is it possible for the picture tube to short out the video luminance > buffer, Q901 in the CTC166/167 chassis family?
