Jeff,
I'm an old tv repair guy also, but you might look on the back for a UL#. If
it's there, it's a US set, if not, then it's Canadian.
Seems like there were some problems with the diodes in the tuner. They had
to be all replaced as a set, either 5 or 7 diodes. These were varactor
diodes and determined the frequency, but it's been a looong time since I
worked on a 140 chassis.

Customer is an ol' TV repair guy, out of the business since the 70's.
I sold him this set and cable channels stop at 64. Trying to get channel 71
and he
was insistent that there was a fine tuning for each channel....I tried to
explain
that has been changed for some time.
Anyway, manual says this set should get up to 91 cable channels in US, 64 in
Canada.
The fact that the TV OSD will go up to 90, leads me to believe set should be
receiving these channels above 64.
Do I have an electrical problem, or was this set made for Canada?
We are both curious about this problem.
