I have found , that these transistors will work in both sets BUT, if the
ones used in sony's are bad along with the two regulator and you can't hold
your finger on the regulators for more than 7 seconds , replace them with
the original. they will work in some and not others as far as sony goes ,
but I haven't had any trouble with them being used in rca's
