Peter

You may also like to talk to TfL who are currently installing a surface
crossing in replacement of a subway in A240 Tolworth Broadway.
With the existing adjacent crossing and signal junction, this will mean
three installations within a 150 - 200 metre stretch of road.

The question was too difficult for me to first answer, but my
understanding was that signal installations closer together than
135metres needed to be linked.

I cannot find any other details, but maybe this would answer your
problem. If forced to install two crossing so close together, why not
link them so they act as one?

I would also consult with your Traffic Manager - who has the brief to
ensure efficient traffic flow.

Peter

I too have been searching for an answer for this same subject but with
no joy. I have been asked to approve 2 crossings that are within 60m of
each other. In the end I got the developer to move the crossing by
saying it was closer than 20m to a side road (it was only a small car
park entrance.)They have now moved the crossing further up making the 2
crossings 120m apart

Subject: [TCUG] Pedestrian Crossing locations

Hi All,
Can anyone advise where I may find information relating to the distance
between controlled crossing facilities. We are being pressured into
providing 2 controlled crossing within 80m of each other on a busy A
road.=3D3D20

I thought it use to be 130 yards in old money, but I cant find anything
up to date.

Have a great Easter break
