Brian!  He just way out of line on his asking prices.  I recently (18 months 
ago) sold a single cab with very minimal rust and in good condition sans engine 
for $4,000.  Except for the lack of an engine it was in much better condition 
than that described by your friend for his daily driver SC.  A fair price for 
that SC is probably in the range of $5,000-$6,000; maybe a little more but not 
much.
