I used a small screwdriver to pry it all the way around.

  I got a nice chrome one and wanted to replace the painted one that is on it, 
Seems to me - you would pry this off (very gently) 

  Am I close? I dont know if I need to get inside the bus and put a Sammie on

  this is for an early bay (1971) 

  is this hard? 
  Don't want to break anything cause I need to put it back on.
