With the right sunglasses safaris are good to about 50 mph. Make sure your
tabs are welded in well though and don't smile.

Aside from bugs in your teeth the other "problem" is that safaris may or may
not be legal. A lot of jurisdictions require a windshield in front of the
driver. Occasionally you will run in to an old cop that knows this and he will
pull you over. Why you can ride a motorcycle without windshield or a helmet
face shield but you must have a windshield on a vehicle I don't know. I always
plead ignorance (easy for me) and said they were factory and never got a
ticket. Just something you should be aware of. Have your story straight
before you get pulled over.

  Dan,

Great idea about the radio. I have heard about the leaking problem but I
must be a glutton for punishment or just stubborn - I simply must have them.
I am planning on one for the rear as well only for use while parked. I heard
it was a bad idea to drive with the front ones open in case you hit an
armadillo or something.

Safaris are very nice in good weather but suck when it is raining. I have
had OG & repop safaris, they all leak, some just leak less. If you are going
to run safaris keep a towel behind the seat to sop up the water. If you have a
radio mounted in the parcel tray you may want to put a piece of sheet metal
over the top of it (hidden under the dash) to keep the water from dripping on
it. Also, 4" wide clear packaging tape over the outside of the window-to-body
connection works wonders at slowing down the flow of water into the bus. Keep
a roll of that behind the seat as well. Been there, done that, your mileage
may vary.

i'm going to use the seals they offer, i had also read on TS that there
were better seals, but i figured i'd give these a shot first. Also, i would
recommend ordering these windows well before you need them as there was a long
wait, although he said that they have finally caught up and have some ready.
When ever i get around to installing them i'll take lots of pix and post
them.

      thanks,

      Hi Jeff,

I have been reading about IZZ's safari windows on Samba cause I'm gonna
buy a set for the first time. Can you tell me the website? Also what seals are
you going to use?
      Thanks!
