Jeff: That is a gas heater; option on busses. Lots of early busses sold in
cold climes had them. Will have to look at the image on the vacum line and get
back with you. Early ones had metal. Think laters had flex like fuel hose.

2 questions from image 1833 and 1834
1) What is that on the driver side in the engine compartment? Seems like it
would block air flow to the engine.
2) Should the vacuum line to the distributor have a metal line?
