Hey y'all,
What a great weekend!!!!! If Kirk and I hadn't pulled our all-nighter to get
the '58 to where we (especially Kirk) wanted it, we would have loved to have
added Friday night in F-burg. As many of you know, we worked our butts off for
two weeks to get the deluxe back to life after 27 years. It was a pretty huge
leap of faith to choose to drive the old boy up instead of trailering him, and
a very rewarding decision. Our event highlights included 1)seeing folks we've
gotten to know since moving to Texas almost 3 years ago, 2) meeting new folks,
3)talking Buses, 4)loading 10 TCBers in the '58 and cruising down the hill to
the other TCB party, 5)finally seeing Sammy's panel in person, 6)buying some og
glass I need at the swap, 7) seeing every show vehicle while helping choose the
best of cars. Our trip was shorter than most of yours, and we only had one
glitch heading home in our San Antonio area caravan home. We started slowing
down gradually and finally determined that the new brake system was heating up.
Fortunately one of our Baywindow drivers had been through this before and knew
to blead the system to releave preasure. We'll see y'all soon enough.
Keep em driving,
Peter

Subject: [tcb] Classic week and trip home

I guess the older we get the more sentimental we
get.We are so lucky to be able to enjoy our hobby and
Friends. Trip up was great trip home great ,misted
most of the way , but was kool and uneventful.Things
that I really enjoy doing in Fredricksburg , Spending
time on Fri and Friday and Sat.night at Dan And
Katrina's camp site. The sat kruise and escorting one
of the Mid west Motor works guys or girls on the
kruze. (the watermelon was awesome).I enjoy judging
the way we have it now that it doesn't take so long .
Allen Rigs and I had a great time judging the 68-70
mod stock class. Sunday I seem to enjoy the day , but
for some reason never get around to seeing all of the
cars , or remember half of what I did?and as most of
you know I don't drink, and I 've cleared up my Krack
habit. But one of the real highlights of the week was
at Momisitas Mexican Resteraunt I don't know how long
that table was , but there was a bunch of very special
people there.Thanx to every one for making Joe and I's
weekend a Classic to remember . Thanx again to Steve
Sharon Tyler and crew for doing such an outstanding
job. I thinnk I'll go down to Tres Mygihees and have
some heavous rancharos.
