[tcb] 69 vs 73

are the late bays longer than the early ones...according to the brochure yes.
but there is a guy on the samba that told me i was wrong my 77 barley fit in my
garage and my 69 fits with room to spareaccording to the brochure the 69 is
174" long and the 73 is 179" longwhat am i missing??? one guy says it's because
of the difference in bumpers but my 77 didn't have a rear bumper and still
took up more room
