Hi,
I have to be a little careful what I say here due to some objections raised
earlier, but:
The latest approved firmware for Orange UK is v11.043.
The latest Nokia released firmware is v21.006.
At the moment your phone will quite rightly not allow an update due to the
way it's being identified by both NSU and FOTA. This can be changed, but I
don't think it wise for me to go into this further publically.
Could I ask you to contact me off list if you'd like me to explain this
further?

bought the phone from phones4u but it is on the orange network. there are at
least 2 updates to the firmware which should be available but neither are
showing as such. Mind you, neither the nokia software updater or the latest
pc suite seems to work with jaws 10. So getting a bit grumpy and frustrated
here!LOL!

Hi,
What network operator did you purchase the phone from? There could not be
an approved update out yet. You could change the product code to the
generic EURO1 one 0566656 but this would invalidate your warranty.
Also note that often FOTA can be a little behind NSU in terms of having
updates ready to download.

Hi list,
just tried to update my N86 from 11.043 but the nokia software updater says
there is no other update only re-install the same version, I'm fairly sure
there are updates up to 21..... anyone else encountered this issue and how
to get around it? thanks!
