Sounds almost like you hav an app specific setting somehow by mistake, to chec
open talks settings, then key1 for options, go to app specific settings which
should be the first item and see if there is any app specific settings for the
homescreen. Note that you need to open the talks settings window from the
homescreen to show this. If talks long key1 does not work then try talks plus
the * key as this will also open settings
if there is then select and choose to set that back to default.

talks is acting like their are no soft keys on the home screen, when
infact, there are.
