Hi all,

I just wanted to let everyone know of a toaster we purchased, which turns
out to be a much safer toaster (as far as touching it goes), than is usual.

It's a "Lift and Look" made by Breville. It has two very long, very wide
slots, which will accomodate any type of bread. When done, it beeps and
lifts the bread up and partially out of the toaster so your fingers don't
have to come close to the toaster to get your bread. In addition, the side
and a inch wide strip on top (around the outside) are made of a "cool touch"
substance, which is safe to touch when the toaster is operating. The
toaster mechanism is recessed down from the top sides, so it's hard to
accidentally touch the center divider and possibly burn yourself.

It has electronic controls, which consist of 5 easily felt buttons, and is
white. There's a button for frozen bread which adds some time to the
setting of the slide lever, and another button which causes it to only heat
one side of each bread slot (for bagels). It sells for $70.

hth,

Chip
