At the last TCB Meetings these very points were brought up to the five people from Star Metro who came to give us the latest updates on Nova 2010. Another problem we pointed out, was accessibility to malls; the plan, as it stands, does not bring the busses up close to the doors at all; they would stop at the entrance to the parking lot, so we hope they understood why this is so important.
Robert is correct; many places we would go do not have proper shelters or sidewalks, and, for it to work for us, we have to try to convince the state to finish the sidewalks on North Meridian between Bradford and John Knox.

Star Metro is not going to know where each bus stop is this early in the game. They were still figuring out where to put some stops for the last change they just made.I would like to know what intersections the transfer points will be? What condition the sidewalks are in and the availability of audible signals at these intersections.----- Original Message ----- From: "Chip Orange" <Corange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, October 30, 2009 2:13 PM Subject: [tabi] Re: Fw: Re: Fw: starmetro infoRobert, Yes, I was expecting that each route would make a loop, and since this route is near my house also, I looked at it in particular, and was very confused as to where and when the bus went from the end back to the start. Each time they make a route change, someone (I don't know who) needs to evaluate the bus stop site for accessibility. since they're not describing the bus stops at all in these descriptive texts, I'm not even sure if that's possible right now, but how would any of us know if a particular stop requires walking along a road without sidewalks or across open parking lots? I guess Star Metro is listening. When I read the new route posting I couldn't tell that any thing had been changed to indicate that the bus would indeed come behind Publix and Books A million. Heather from Star metro sent Sila a message and clearly stated they had taken the suggestion. Here is the description for the part I am talking about. Capital Circle East Route - every 15 minutes during peak hours Village Square, South on Maclay Boulevard, East on Market Street, under the flyover, South on Capital Circle, West on Apalachee Parkway, Apparently the bus will start at Kellarn Center BLVD and Village Square and cross Thomasville road. I think it would be helpful if we had a starting location/intersection for each route and if the bus goes east which is left say east-left. Tallahassee can be confusing directionally in some parts and especially if you are traveling in an area you aren't use to.
