Hi Mary and thanks very much.  That is interesting in that the specs for
the new recorder say, "variable speed playback (up to 
50 per cent slower and faster than real time.  Perhaps this is in
addition to what you can get when you press the play button multiple
times.  Don't know.

It's good to see you on a list.

Neal,

If 1 is the normal speed for an Olympus recorder, the fastest speed is 2
and 
the slowest is .5 (that's point 5, or half speed.)
