This would work, but it assumes you have access to the original content which 
comprises the MP3 file, which I suspect is not the case.

Rob and Neal touched on a way you may be able to solve your problem. 
remember the filesize is 2gb. you can lower your sample rate from 44 k-hz to 
22-khz which doubles the time length of your file. You could also change 
defaults from Stario to Mono which would also increase the length of the file.
Rob would that work with say a 6-hour mp3 file?
