I think therre might be more questions. Just ask. Still more can be talked about Free Software starving programmers. It wouldn't fitting to stop discussing this issue without mentioning custom software. Majority, I think the figure is 60%, of software is written for one particular customer, say airline booking or banking applications. Nobody would write this for free of cost and the question of starving programmers wouldn't even arise. This can be considered as Free Software in the sense the people paying for the work owns the code and they chose not to share it. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS all does this kind of service.
