As always, the SPARKS calendar is changing. Please make sure you are
looking at the attached calendar. For example we are trying to make room
for the Kitchen Chemistry and Robotics classes which would start right after
spring break and go for 5 or 6 weeks. The Kitchen Chemistry will be on
Thursdays and the Robotics on Fridays. We moved some the bingo nights -
please check those out.

Meeting Notes:

Past events: We had a two great Pi events. While turnout at the Whittier
event was low, the good news is that we have someone who wants to join
Parents Committee from that school. Great news as the Dabroski's will not
be at Whittier next year and it is always nice to have some families in the
school.

Future events: We need some more volunteers for some upcoming events.
Autumn can bring the pizza to Whittier's Kohls Wild Theater on Wed, but we
also need someone to pick up pizza for Tuesday at Hawthorne. We need lots
of volunteers for the new Bingo. We also have International Night at
Hadfield. Tammy has lined up a Polynesian Review, Belly Dancers, and the
Kindergarteners and First Graders will be singing.

We are still trying to arrange the multi week classes. With Stacy
(Hadfield's principal) moving to Heyer next year, we are not going to be
able to have them at Hadfield. Instead we are looking at Hawthorne. Tammy
and I met with Hawthorne since this meeting and Joe is very excited about
this opportunity for his families. We should have this flyer ready to go
next week.

United Way Update: Tammy is continuing to work with United Way and the
School District to find a means for reporting that works for all. Because
right now we are still expected to provide report cards, and the school
district will not release them to us even if we have a signed release, we
need options. We talked about having a picnic in a park close to the school
and giving families something free (distribute ice cream and rent a bounce
house) if they bring their report card. Of course this had to be during the
summer since report cards don't come out until after school gets out.

Final note - for those who are curious. we think about 25 families have
attended all four of our events to earn the special invitation. Tammy had
camp pricing and options and is reviewing if we can do that.
