Today's site, from the King Institute at Stanford University, provides one of 
the
most comprehensive resources on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Gentle Subscribers 
will
find a wide variety of materials dedicated to illustrating and celebrating the 
life
of this remarkable American.

In 2005, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute was 
created
to provide an institutional home for a broad range of activities illuminating 
the
Nobel Peace laureate's life and the movements he inspired. The Institute's
endowment supports programs that serve as an enduring link between Stanford's
research resources and King's dream of global peace with social justice." - from

Since a primary aspect of the Institute's mission is the publication of the most
significant of Dr. King's papers, the site features the first six of a fourteen
volume edition of his writings. Additional material includes the King Online
Encyclopedia -- showcasing a chronology, and multimedia content -- his speeches 
and
sermons, essays on the Montgomery bus boycott and the march on Washington, along
with extensive biographical and autobiographical details. Among the highlights 
of
the site is the stirring oratory of Dr. King's own speeches.
