Site of the Day for Friday, February 25, 2005

        Overbooked

Today's site, created by librarian and bibliophile Ann Chambers Theis back
in the mid-nineties, is a splendid collection of booklists, reviews and
all-round what's-good-to-read information. Gentle Subscribers thinking
about curling up with a cozy selection of enjoyable reading material to
tide them over until spring, will find the site a haven of great
suggestions.

"A web site for ravenous readers. Overbooked specializes in literary and
genre fiction information. Overbooked Originals include author web pages,
annotated lists of nonfiction, fiction and mystery books which received
starred reviews, themed booklists, featured titles lists and hot lists of
hard cover US fiction releases. Check out the newish Author Connections - A
special section for authors to communicate information to readers looking
for good books and what to read next." - from the website

The site provides a wealth of reference material to keep up to date with
the latest offerings from the publishing world. Among its features are
lists of first novels and short story collections and specialized
recommendations -- for readers who enjoyed "The DaVinci Code"; "African
American Stars"; and authors who died during the previous year, for
example. Within its extensive resources are links to even more information,
such as authors' websites.
