Hello Mr. Juma

Your inquiry is timely, and I want to make the following preliminary
response:
1. SOPVID was founded primarily to promote professional excellence
among professionals with visual disabilities.
2. At the moment, the constitution of the society provides for two
types of membership:
(a) Full membership, for full professionals with visual disabilities.
(b) Associate membership, for students with visual disabilities and
for friends and relatives of members.

3. In our most recent AGM held in July 2013, some members felt we
should debate this issue anew, with a view to exploring the
possibility of allowing full membership to anyone who desires it.

I guess we can start this discussion here, and conclude it during our
next AGM. What do people think?
