SOGAGG Family,
Today, we are honored to celebrate March’s birthday number four but someone who
is easily number one in our hearts. Right up front I’ll reveal it’s our own
Birdie. Up front because there may be those who are not familiar with how this
beloved SOGAGGer came by her call sign. It’s a story of intrigue and
sneakiness but with a good ending.
When Birdie first played with this motely group, she indicated she was horrible
at golf and hoped we would essentially NOT throw her off the course as we began
the round. She birdied the first hole. Then she birdied at least one more (or
two) throughout the remainder of the round! When we finished up she actually
tried to wiggle out of total guilt by downplaying the event with one of those
weak “it was just a once-in-a-lifetime exception.” That did not play and as
you can see, our giving her the call sign “Birdie” turned out to be prescient.
On the other hand, who could not forgive her genuine, warm smile and desire to
actively support our SOGAGG family? And…on this special day, we all support
you, Birdie with kudo’s and best wishes alike. You might even show this to you
husband and tell him about the society and your treasured position within it.
Oh, wait…JJ
Happy Birthday Birdie!
