This was one of the things I came across while googling the error. I haven't 
got the id3tag.pc file in either of the dirs.

Output of  'pkg-config --cflags --libs id3tag'

Package id3tag was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `id3tag.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
