I normally get a slur above when I press S. I don't think it matters though.

Dan,

Thank you for the advice. Your solution DID prevent the straying into
another voice. However, JAWS reported the slurs of both voices to be of the
lower position, even though I entered an upper slur for each. I can have my
sighted wife give her opinion on the visual effect, but the notes of the
multiple voices do not extend above the staff  into ledger lines. Is this
result what you would expect?
