Dan,

Thank you for the advice. Your solution DID prevent the straying into
another voice. However, JAWS reported the slurs of both voices to be of
the lower position, even though I entered an upper slur for each. I can
have my sighted wife give her opinion on the visual effect, but the
notes of the multiple voices do not extend above the staff into ledger
lines. Is this result what you would expect?

Dale

Dale,

Try this:

1. navigate to the first note of the voice 1 slur.
2. Press Ctrl+F9 to set the selection marker.
3. Navigate to the last note of the voice 1 slur.
4. Press Shift+F9 to select everything between the selection marker and
the currently selected note.
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+1 to filter the selection so that it only
contains voice 1 notes.
6. Press S to add the slur.

To add the slur to voice 2, follow the steps above but choose the first
and last notes in the voice 2 slur in steps 1 and 3 above.

Regarding the slur above and below. Just use slur above. Slur below
doesn't really do anything. If you use slur below, Sibelius will work
out whether it should go above or below by itself.

Subject: [sib-access] Slurs in Multiple Voices

I have a vocal piece requiring slurs in two voices at the same time, but
those lines need to be of different lengths from each other. I find that
as I extend the slur in voice 1 to its proper notes, JAWS reports
migration into the 2nd voice. I've tried entering the voice 2 slur
first, but the problem still occurs when creating the voice 1 line. Any
ideas? Also, is it appropriate to use the "slur above" for voice 1, and
"slur below" for voice 2?

Thanks for your help.
