Getting the pedals to perform perfectly in MIDI is kind of a visual trick. It's more important that the parts look right to the sighted person who will eventually read the printed score. Again, this is a visual trick and you should enlist the aid of a knowledgeable sighted person to make sure your part looks correct. The sound is less important in this case. When I attempt to put pedal lines in a score of piano music, it seems to play the notes as if the pedal were pressed down the whole time, rather than going down, then up, then down again. I've tried Pedal Line, Pedal and Star, Pedal Line and Lift, all of which come from the lines menu, but I get the same result each time. What do I do? Is there a specific way that I'm supposed to notate pedaling for piano music? If you have any further information or questions for me, please feel free to Email me at any time, as I check my Emails several times each day.
