Hi, Dave.
I have an older version of the Tips and Tricks folder. Could I get the more
current version, please?

Thanks,
Dani

Dani,

Check out these two files from my Tips and Trick Collection...and if you
don't have them, reply directly to my email and I'll send you a zip file
full of them.

This file helps to get all title elements correctly spaced right from the
start, using Sib 5...
Manual Positioning of Text in the Title Area.txt

This file helps explain the mystery of the layout dialog...
Document Layout Explained.txt

And from the Sib 6 user guide I excerpted relevant text...

Do I need to know specifics e.g., this should be x distance from the staff?
Or does Sib 6 automatically do that in magnetic layout? I've heard about
this feature, but don't have a good idea about what it is or what it does.
Would you give a brief explanation?

Thanks,
Dani

Once you have the file open in Sibelius 6, select the entire score. Then do
all these things from the Layout menu, making sure the whole score is always
selected.
1. Reset the note spacing (letter n)
2. Reset the space above the staff (letter v) 3. Reset the space below the
staff (letter w) 4. Optimize the staff spacing (letter o)

Executing all these things is not a guarantee of perfect spacing, because
the options within staff optimization can get complex. But these things
together offer a good place to start.

Hi, Everyone.
Can I independently use magnetic layout to get my Sib 5 file to look
correct? I have no usable vision, but need to tweak a file so it looks
readable and not all crammed together. If yes, even a little bit, what do I
need to know to get started?

Thanks,

Dani
