Hi Marimuthu,

Regarding the voltage rating of a capacitor it should be twice the
voltage applied.

Ceramic capacitors are used for high frequency noise rejection, so you
can have one ceramic decap for each pin.=20

Bulk capacitor values will be decided by your peak load current and
switching frequency. So you should calculate the peak load current and
then apply the following formula.

C =3D I*dt/dv. (Wher I is ur load current.)=20

Thanks

Subject: [SI-LIST] Reg: No of Decoupling capacitors

Hi All,
Can anyone tell about how to select the no of decoupling capacitors
and its
voltage value for a particular chip in the board?

For example I am using one chip which has ten 3.3V power pins and twenty
5V
pins. How many bulk and ceramic capacitors I have to put for decoupling
and
what should be the voltage value of those capacitors.

Thanks and Regards
Marimuthu P
